What should I pack?

What should I pack? Generally casual wear, with a nice outfit for the evenings out. The summer is mild, however it can be quite hot in July & August. We suggest you pack for summer, bring a lightweight jacket/coat for the evening (just in case it gets a little cool). We do go up to 2000 metres on one of our days so a warm windcheater is recommended for this day. Comfortable walking shoes are adequate for the tour. Girls if you like to dress for dinner, bring that little black dress with you.

How do I get to the start of the tour?

How do I get to the start of the tour? The closest international airports are Milan (Malpensa) or Venice (Marco Polo). There is a shuttle train service to Milan Central,(50 minutes) and a high speed train to Verona (1¾ hrs). From Venice there is a high speed train service to Verona (1,1/4 hrs). If you are travelling from within Europe, you can fly direct to Verona (V.Catullo) or catch the train to Verona (Porta Nuova).

I have special dietary needs, it that a problem? Gluten Free options are available for breakfast in our hotel. The restaurants we dine at cater for vegetarians and Gluten Free is available. Please let us know when booking what your requirements are.

Are there long travelling days? No. We rarely travel more than 100km in any day, with several stops for sightseeing/activities.

What standard of hotel should I expect? Our hotels are 3-4 star, small, family-run with personalised service. Well located being just a few minutes walk to the Malcesine village.

What is the best way to take money with me?

What is the best way to take money with me? Cash passport cards (pre-loaded with Euros) are the most convenient form. Visa and Mastercard are the most widely accepted credit cards. ATM’s are readily available on Lake Garda.

What form of transport do you use?

What form of transport do you use? We use an 8-9 seat minibus which is ideal for the types of roads around the lake.

How much luggage can I take?

How much luggage can I take? One normal suitcase and small hand luggage to carry in the vehicle is recommended. Luggage space is limited on the minibus.

Do I need travel insurance?

Do I need travel insurance? Travel insurance is compulsory for all clients. The policy must be comprehensive, (NOT the basic travel insurance typically included on credit cards) and must include cancellation, medical expenses, repatriation, luggage/personal belongings loss or damage, money and personal liability. At the start of your tour we will require proof of your insurance details as this will be essential in the case of an emergency.

How fit do I need to be?

How fit do I need to be? You will need a normal level of fitness and be in good health. Several days on our tour include a reasonable amount of walking, sometimes over uneven ground or gradients and would not be suitable for people with limited mobility.

Will I be able to do any laundry?

Will I be able to do any laundry? A “next day” laundry service is available from the hotel. A fee is charged for this service.

I am travelling alone, how much extra will I have to pay? If you are travelling alone and we can offer single rooms in Hotel Erika only. Single rooms are usually quite small so this should be considered when booking. Single rooms are not always available as hotels usually have very few single rooms. Please contact us directly for the single supplement prices.
